Sunset Dam is a very popular waterhole for a wide variety of wildlife and birds. Crocodiles and hippos may be peeking just above the waterline, whilst lion prides will quench their thirst on the banks and rest in the shade of the thickets.
Herons, yellowbilled storks and spoonbill birds may be seen perching on the branches of a lone leadwood tree sitting in the dam.
