Wadi Farasa East, Petra

The Wadi Farasa East is a narrow gorge featuring a series of complexes of sacred areas, tombs, homes and other chambers.

Cisterns, water pipes and other installations to protect against flash floods were built around 1st century AD.

An earthquake 360 years later caused severe destruction and the area was abandoned and left to decay.
