Built
in 1226 and expanded on over the centuries, Duivenvoorde Castle is one of the
oldest castles in the Netherlands that has never been sold and always passed on
through inheritance.
In
the 20th century, the castle was placed in a foundation and after
extensive restoration several rooms depicting 17th-19th
century interiors were opened to the public.
