Hortus Botanicus Leiden, Netherlands

Founded in 1590, Hortus Botanicus is the oldest botanical garden in the Netherlands.  A few years later, Carolus Clusius cultivated the first tulip collection.  Today, the pride of the garden is the “Victoria Amazonica”, a water lily and the largest flower in the world.

The Asian collection includes the giant “Titan Arum” and the “Tuliptree” on the grounds dates back to 1716.
