Coptic Cairo is located within Old Cairo, a historic area designated as a UNESCO site. Coptic Cairo was a stronghold for Christianity in Egypt which began to take hold in the country around 33 AD.
The complex houses several buildings such as the Church of St George,
and the Coptic Museum.
