Dahshur Necropolis, Giza

Dahshur Necropolis is a royal necropolis located south of the city of Giza.

It is designated as a UNESCO site.

The necropolis encompasses some of the oldest pyramids that were

built by the Pharoah Sneferu between 2613 and 2589 BC.

The pyramids at Dahshur were the earliest smooth-sided pyramids.

Knowledge gained from building the necropolis paved the way for the successful construction of the Pyramids of Giza.
