Spandau Citadel is a large Renaissance-era fortress in the north of Berlin.
Viewed from above, we can seen the striking star-shaped pattern of the complex, all surrounded by a quaint, lily-pad-strewn lake and a large forested park.
In the warmer months, the bright foliage of the trees beautifully compliments the pretty red brickwork of the fortifications, especially when it is all bathed in the warm glow of the midsummer sun.
